"Sex, Drugs, and Rockin' Trolls."

Rehearsals are underway for Henrik Ibsen's Peer Gynt at Black Box Performing Arts Center in Teaneck, NJ. Savannah serves this production with a swift '1-2-3-Punch' as 1) Assistant Director, 2) Production Stage Manager, and 3) Ensemble Member.

In Ibsen's infamous epic, reckless and egotistical, Peer Gynt, seeks a life full of adventure and success, but without all the not-so-glamorous agony and dread. After wooing and subsequently crushing the heart of not one, but three eager admirers, Peer decides that it’s time to “quit this soil” and pursue a life beyond all that is familiar. An unprecedented experimental rendition of the most widely performed of all Norwegian plays, which – according to Klaus Van Den Berg – features a “cinematic script [that] blends poetry with social satire and realistic scenes with surreal ones.” Peer Gynt has been described as the story of a life based on procrastination and avoidance. When all is said and done, will Peer discover “the victory only dread can give?”

Directed by BBPAC Artistic Director, Matt Okin, and presented in special arrangement with Samuel French, Inc, NY, this production is Ibsen like you've never seen before.

Peer Gynt will play over four weekends, from January 11 through February 4, Thursday through Sundays at 7:30pm, at Black Box Studios' new home, Black Box Performing Arts Center, Teaneck, NJ 07666. Limited seating per show. Viewer discretion is STRONGLY advised. Youth under 18 will not be admitted without a parent/guardian. For tickets, visit http://www.blackboxpac.com/peergynt.
